Camilla is a Colorado native. She grew up in Loveland, where she currently lives with her husband and two daughters. After high school, she spent several years living in New York City. While there, she studied theater at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and vocal performance at Hunter College. She then returned to Colorado and earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

While finishing school, she taught musical theater classes for children and directed children's shows through the Carousel Dinner theater in Ft. Collins. She has also performed in many musical theater productions in the area. She currently teaches elementary music in the Thompson Valley School District, and is enjoying her sixth year as the artistic director for the Esprit Singers.
